COARSE AGGREGATE

Coarse aggregates consist of gravel, crushed stone sizes of ranging from 3/8-inch to 1.5 inches. Primarily used for concrete, 711 Materials produces high-quality, low-shrink 1”x No. 4 meeting Cal-Trans and ASTM C33 requirements.

FINE AGGREGATE

Fine aggregate is natural sand which has been washed and sieved to remove particles and sieved so that the particles are below 5 mm in size. 711 Materials produces sand that meets both Cal-Trans and ASTM C33 requirements.

Common Uses:

  • Plaster Sand

  • Backfill

  • Earth Stabilization

PEA GRAVEL

Pea gravel is typically used because of its size, texture, and color. Pea gravel can be used in concrete applications as well as landscaping applications. Pea gravel is typically used for more above-ground projects and applications, however, is can also be used for drainage and pipe bedding

BASE COURSE

Base course refers to aggregates with a range of particle sizes, usually 1-1/2-inch and smaller, that produce a dense layer of stone with a minimum number of voids. The rock is generally used under roads and concrete pads.

Cobbles, commonly known as Rip-Rap, are large pieces of crushed stone (4 inches or larger) typically used to protect shorelines and slopes from erosion and runoff. Architectural and landscaping applications are also common. Sizes can vary depending on the project specification.
